Paperwork Needed

Get your documents ready—so your loan can move fast.

When you apply for a mortgage, the lender will verify details from your application and review your financial history. Having the common documents ready up front helps reduce back-and-forth and keeps your timeline on track.

Your checklist

  • Social Security numbers (borrower + any co-borrowers)
  • Checking & savings statements (most recent 2 months)
  • Other assets (stocks, bonds, retirement accounts like 401k/403b)
  • Recent pay stubs
  • W-2s and/or tax returns (past 2 years) + proof of employment
  • Employer contact who can verify employment
  • Residence history (past 2 years)
  • If purchasing: executed sales contract + HOA contact info (if applicable)
Pro tip: PDFs or clear photos are perfect. If you have multiple accounts, send complete statement pages (not screenshots) so underwriting can verify deposits and balances.
Document requirements vary by loan type and borrower profile. We’ll confirm anything additional after you apply.
